Lifetime Tamarack Angler 100 Fishing Kayak – What Makes It Great?

Being able to pick up a fishing kayak for under $400 sounds impossible. Many believe that decent quality kayaks will tip the $1000 mark easily.

After some extensive research it seems like it’s not as expensive as some might have thought. It it is still possible to find a stable kayak under $400 that could be used for getting out for a lake or river adventure, or just cruising along and fishing.

Not really being suitable to take out on the open sea and fight through rough waves, we took advantage of the calmer lake waters to see how this unit performed.

What is great about this kayak is that a single person can easily control it with a single paddle, and no struggling.

Lifetime Tamarack Angler 100

Basically, the Lifetime Tamarack Angler 100 is built to keep you stable while providing the level of comfort you desire.

Remaining relatively balanced in even turbid river waters you’re unlikely to be tipped out when it comes to reeling in a fish.

The design allows for comparative minimal effort when paddling. You can quickly move from point to point and glide through the water to a spot where you want to cast your line.

Wide Hull

Initially, are likely to notice the wider hull. It comes with a generous width which helps with remaining stable and is very supportive. You can sit comfortably in this kayak and maneuver from a seated position easily.

This has had minimal impact on speed through potential drag. The sharp bow ensures that it can still cut through the water smoothly.

Built with a tracking skeg, you are able to push your kayak to faster speeds if desired.

Comfortable Seat

Yet another mandatory requirement, paddling comfortably is what make a day on the water that much more enjoyable. A kayak with a poorly designed seat can severely impact on the comfort of kayaking, and your overall experience.

If you are an Angler, you will certainly intend to stay out longer. This is where some carefully designed comfort pays off, and this is supported though the adjustable backrest.

Footrest Positions

The placement of the footrest in variable positions enhances the comfort of the kayaker. If you’re tall like me, being able to choose a further footing is critical.

And in the case of my Wife, who is 5 foot 10 inches tall, she can comfortably operate this also.

You could argue that kayaks like this are ‘intelligent’ and the Lifetime Tamarack Angler 100 certainly hasn’t missed that.

Hatches and Secured Storage System

Equipped with hooks to secure items such as bags and coolers, these do a lot to help with ensuring that a day out on the water is fruitful and enjoyable. Knowing that you’re not going to lose your lunch is a good feeling.

Unlike other kayaks, the Tamarack Angler 100’s compartments are thoughtfully placed. These are also quite generous for a kayak in this class.

Ideal for a tidy storage of tackle, tools or anything else that takes your fancy, you can rely on these compartments to serve your needs effectively.

Fitted with a bungee on the back, this is ideal for securing your haul after a day out fishing.

UV Protected Hull

With a hull manufactured to stand up to ultraviolet radiation, the expected lifetime of this unit is one that you won’t need to worry about. Made from high density polyethylene, this is designed to take a pounding from the sun.

You are not going to see premature fading of colour or cracking.

Price

We can all agree that price makes a difference. That’s why the Tamarack Angler 100 was chosen. We firmly believe that this comes in at a fair price for the quality of the fishing kayak you’re getting.
